Job description

Sales Development Representative play a crucial role in the sales process by identifying and qualifying potential customers and setting up the sales team for success.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential customers through various channels such as cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, or attending events.
  • Evaluate the potential customer's interest level, budget, timeline, and decision-making authority to determine if they are a good fit for the company's services.
  • Research the company's competitors, understand the customer's industry and pain points, and identify opportunities for the sales team.
  • Engage with potential customers, build rapport, and establish relationships to help convert them into long-term partners.
  • Schedule meetings with qualified leads for the sales team.
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and customer success teams to understand the company's services, target market, and messaging.
  • Update the company's CRM system with accurate information on leads, opportunities, and interactions.
  • Be responsible for meeting monthly or quarterly quotas for lead generation and conversion.
  • Provide feedback to the sales, marketing, and customer success teams on the effectiveness of campaigns, messaging, and lead quality to continuously improve the process.

Job requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. A degree in computer science or information technology can also be beneficial.
  • Experience in sales or marketing, particularly in the IT industry, is preferred. This includes experience in lead generation, lead qualification, and lead nurturing.
  • Have a basic understanding of IT products and services such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, software development, application performance monitoring, observability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills.
  • The ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on business and technical metrics.
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize activities to meet monthly or quarterly quotas.
  • Proficiency in a CRM system for tracking leads, activities, and outcomes.
  • Be able to work collaboratively with the sales, marketing, and  customer success teams, share insights and feedback, and contribute to the overall success of the company's sales strategy.
